Arthur Calkin

Arthur Charles Calkin was born on the 8th April 1892.
He was the the fifth of 8 children born to Pierre & Eliza Calkin.
The first mention we have of Arthur is in the 1901 census. Being just 8 years old, he is living with his parents at 26, Nunhead Grove, Peckham, London and his occupation is declared as "Schoolboy".

Arthur Calkin was credited at one time as Britain's finest bass player,
