The marriage date is confirmed by the Derby Mercury dated Thursday 22nd February 1798 because it says, "Marriage: On Tuesday se'nnight at Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Mr. James Calkin of Stafford to Miss Mary ellis of the former place." (se'nnight is an olde English term for a week - as in a short form of "seven nights")
