Ethel Maud Rosina Calkin (became Mrs. Millis)
Fourth child of of 8 children born to Pierre Edward and Eliza Jane
Interestingly, NO Ethel Maud is listed in the Public Records Office index of Births,
but she is on the 1901 census with an occupation given as "Machinist",
and she is listed in the index of "Marriages".
The 1911 census has Ethel Maud Millis living with her husband and three children at 56, Brayards Road, Peckham.
Ethel and family cannot be traced on the 1921 census.

         Born: c. 1883 at Walworth, London

         Married: c. 03.1905 to Charles John Millis, registered in Camberwell.

         Died: c. 12.1941 Aged 59, registered in Bromley.

In the 1911 census Charles is listed as being 27, also from Walworth and a "Printer Assistant"

         Born: 1883 at Walworth, London

         Died: c. 12.1962 Aged 79, at Bromley, Kent

As the Calkin line ends with Ethel down this route, I won't expand this line further, except to say:
Ethel and Charles had Five Children :

Ethel Millis (b.1905) who married Tom Holland in 1929.

Harold C. S. Millis (b.1907) who married Ethel Pascoe in 1935.

Lily Beatrice Millis (b.1910) who married William Church (d.1995) in 1936.

Audrey G. Millis (b.1912) who married Kenneth Proudlock in 1939 ... and ....

Charles Jack Millis (b.1918).

Lily Beatrice Millis (your author's Great-Aunt's daughter) who married William Church, lived at 20, Aspinall Road, Brockley and I would almost certainly have met them. Another Great-aunt, my Great-Aunt Beat (my Granddad's sister) lived at 65, Aspinall Road and I certainly visited there on a few occasions when quite a few family members got together.
