Arthur's details as listed in Historical Directories include: 1896 Arthur's address is given as Oaklea, Sheepcote Road, Harrow. 1899 his address is now listed as 16, Sheepcote Road, Greenhill, Harrow. 1901 the address is still 16, Sheepcote Road, Greenhill, Harrow. 1901 census - Oddly, there is no mention of this family in the 1901 census, when Arthur would have been 34. 1912 - In the records of American immigration kept at Ellis Island there is a record of Arthur having travelled to America on the "Minnewaska", arriving 8th April 1912 aged 46. The manifest describes Arthur as a "Bookseller", 5 feet 9 inches, with a reason for travel of "visiting New York" 1914 Arthur's address is now listed as Rectory Farm House, Hayes End, Middlesex. Also he is listed as travelling from Southampton to Fremantle, Australia in 1934. |
