The marriage of Dorothy Calkin to the Reverend E. Whately-Smith (who preferred not to be called Ernest) was on the same
day as the sinking of the Titanic.
The local paper of Aldeburgh has the story of the Titanic filling the front, and on the
rear can be seen an article about the wedding.
