The 1861 census has Lance (aged 1) living with his parents (see father's entry above).
1871 census lists George L. aged 11, living with his parents as above.
Although living until 1936, there doesn`t appear to be any trace of Lance in either the 1881 or 1901 censii ?
His brief will, made 14th December 1900 (36 years before his death) states Lance to be living at 2, Napier Avenue, Hurlingham, Middlesex.

1911 census lists George Lance living with his wife and three daughters at 22, Queen Anne's Grove, Acton West, Middlesex
His occupation is given as "Artist Portrait Painter".
There is also a General Domestic Servant listed: Mary Blood (aged 22) of Lancashire.

         Died: 10.10.1936 Aged 77 at 49, Cresilton Road, Fulham.

In 1901 census, an Alice is listed as living at 23, Queen Annes Grove, Acton.
It is that entry that the children below have been taken from, BUT,
the head of the household is listed as "Sarah Calkin" (b 1859), Artist Packer ... male !?
We all know what the art fraternity are like, but, was Lance the first to change "his" name ?

         Born: 1870 in Liverpool

         Died: c. 03.1957 Aged 87, registered in Watford.

Two Children .... ? ... oddly two registered with very similar names !?

Phyllis Eileen L.
In the 1911 census Phyllis (aged 16) is listed living with her parents as above.

         Born: c. 06.1894 registered in Kensington, London

         Married: c. 12.1923 to a John Randall Lee (b. 1890 in Barrow-in-Furness), registered in Brentford.

Three Children
I was informed by one Charlie Encore that John and Phyllis lived and worked for a time in South America and all three children were born in Brazil.
John Lance Lee .... married Easter Allwood 15.04.1950 (registered in Harrow)
      John and Easter had three children, Amanda Jane Lee, John David Lee and Victoria May Phyllis Lee
Noel Lee .... believed to have died relatively young, leaving no children.
Barbara Lee .... who married Guy Strickland
      Barbara and Guy had one daughter, Diana Strickland.

Enid
I remember being informed that Enid was a third child, but there is
no entry in the Births, Marriages or Deaths for an Enid Calkin in the 20th century .....
She is listed in the 1911 census though !
In the 1911 census Enid (aged 7) is listed living with her parents as above.
