His occupation is listed as "Engineer Driver (Stationary)" for West End Mills Coy (Lace) at Leopold Street, Long Eaton.
In a letter written by my grandfather (Arthur Calkin) of 12th Nov. 1952 it would appear that Oscar was living at:

Born: 30.08.1880 at 22, Queens Gardens, Nottingham.

Calkin (nee Langford), Mary (affectionately known as "Mam Mam")
The 1901 census rather interestingly has Mary as born (and I quote) :
Where born = France Calais British Sub.
But I don't presume this to mean a submarine just off Calais,
but rather in Calais as a British Subject.
It is reported that Mary was born as Marie Le Langton but changed her name to Langford when moving to England.
The 1921 census has Mary (aged 41) living with her husband and nine children as above.
On this entry it does state she was born in Calais, France.
Born: c. 1880 in France Calais British Sub.

I don't know how she was "separated" from Cyril ... possibly the war, but I do know she then married Herbert early in 1950
